Things to do in your Queensland Accommodation - Licuala Lodge

We have a great swimming pool with a waterfall feature, where you can enjoy a decent swim or just dip your toes. Or just laze around the pool in the sun or in the shade and read a book, fall asleep. If you can get the attention of the head gardener he might even bring you an ice-cold drink. Besides the pool, there are lots of other things to do here at the Queensland accommodation house of Licuala Lodge. The main thing is that you can relax and do nothing, and be waited on hand and foot by the and the . If you fancy a bit of exercise, we have a couple of . Lots of walking tracks nearby (and we have our very own Rainforest Walk where you can spot lots of varied wildlife including snakes, spiders and gnomes), and if you really insist you can have a go on our ride-on lawn mower. Mowing all the grass here takes a good two or three hours. If weeding the garden is your way of relaxing then go for it. And if you fancy any cuttings from the garden, just ask Mick the Under Gardener. If you fancy yourself as a flower arranger, then by all means wander through the garden cut yourself some flowers and make a display. An extra pancake is your reward if your display is better than mine !!

The fridge in the guest lounge has plenty of and cans of soft drinks - just help yourself anytime. Also in the lounge are plenty of , magazines, and other games, a chess set, backgammon set. And the ubiquitous and DVD player. We have a great Race Night game - really good for all the guests to get together and socialise. Just ask Sue or Mick for more details. If it happens to be raining at this wonderful accommodation in Queensland, what better way to spend your time than watching all episodes of Fawlty Towers and all episodes of Yes, Minister. Heaven - or what ?? And we have Little Britain - just gets better all the time.

If you are missing all those domestic chores we have a , . For those of you who cannot bear to be away from the , then Wireless Internet is available at the accommodation.

And when Sue and I have finished our daily chores, we like to have a glass of wine or two on the main verandah. So at wine o'clock (approx 6pm) why not come and join us for a glass (or two) and together we can solve the world's problems.

Surely there must be something there to tempt you to stay in North Queensland !! Grocery shopping maybe, or servicing the rooms ??

OTHER THINGS TO DO WHILST IN MISSION BEACH

So what else can you do in Mission Beach whilst staying at the finest accommodation Queensland has to offer. Being so close to the Great Barrier Reef, Scuba diving and snorkelling are both immensely popular recreations. And remember – just over an hour to the Great Barrier Reef – you can't get any closer. This area boasts some of the best recreational and sports fishing in the world. Go out on a day's fishing with one of several cruises and be amazed at the number of fish that you will catch – and marvel at the variety of the fish. For the more energetic, there is boat, catamaran and jetski hire, white-water rafting (the Tully river rafting has been voted Number 3 in the WORLD - how good is that !!), tandem parachuting, canoeing, sea kayaking. For the less energetic, great scenic drives, rainforest walks and for that bit of culture wander through our craft galleries.

Nearby there are plenty of waterfalls and swimming holes to visit. A great way to spend a couple of hours is a visit to Paronella Park. Also a local winery called Murdering Point Winery. At Silkwood, the smallest museum in Australia - needless to say it won't take you long to do the museum. These attractions (things to do in Queensland) are within easy reach of Licuala Lodge.
